History

Deepika Life Center started in July 2003. We have been operating in the space provided by the community.

What We Do

The Deepika Life Center is an educational project providing support, care and security to children in the heart of the red-light area during peak business hours of the sex trade. The Deepika Life Center has helped hundreds of children gain self-confidence and improve their academic performance, thus reducing the number of failures and school drop-outs. Some of our children have graduated and are now employed. The DLC functions Monday through Friday and provides the children with:

• Guidance for their school studies

• Karate classes for self-defence

• Group sessions with teenagers

• Educational supplies

• An evening snack

• Emergency medical care

• College and Career counselling
